rOck Climbing Lesson #2

2nd March 09,  I made and unplanned trip for rock climbing as I had a hard day. That day I broke my usual climb record of 4 to 7 half. That night, was a quiet climb. Everybody was just taking turns to climb…

What is so special about this climb is that I realised that when the people around you stop cheering you on and gives you advise on where the rocks are when you cannot see them (like my last few climb), you got to find your own steps even it means sometimes you need to lean on pitstops and uncomfortable positions for a rest and have a clearer view of the next few steps.

That day, I learnt that many times I “made waves” and big hu-ha in my climbs in life…yes we climb.. but maybe only 4- the usuals. That day, I stilled my heart and focus on the climb itself and each steps of the rocks, i broke my personal record to 7 climbs…

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.- 1 Thess 4:11-12

hOweVer so,  I understands very well, even when cheering stops, hu-ha’s stops, the rope that held me up there, my God, secures me…He is the only one i can depend on…

When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your love, O LORD, supported me.- Ps 94:18
