If you have trouble thinking outside of the box, then blow up the box -John C. Maxwell, Dare to dream…then do it

Many people spend their lives hanging out and networking with people that hold them back financially-Robert T. Kiyosaki with Sharon L. Letchter, The Business School

Blessed are all who fear the LORD,  who walk in his ways. You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours- Psalm 128:1-2

Taxed or Not Taxed

April 29, 2009

Today I was finishing up the last minute submission for my first income tax. I woke up at 3am to complete to avoid the “traffic” at the e-filing site.

I’m just sitting on my work desk organizing my filings before it drives me crazy for my next year’s tax. A thought just came into my head. Would you rather be taxed or not? come to think of it, I’m grateful that i’m taxed. Being taxed for a simple thought is that I had earned enough to get taxed… Well, that allow me to feel a little better after that…

In the same context that the bible thought us about tithing. Tithing is giving 1 tenth of your earnings/allowance back to God as an offering/an act of worship. Tho it was not a forced on commandment, but this teaching to help us understand that God is the one who provide you with whatever that you have right now. Our job that brings in income, our good health that don’t need extra expenses… etc. It’s a thanksgiving.

Good news is there is a blessing alongside of giving to God:

Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

Again, I rather tithe than not tithe…

My generation- I am 95%

April 21, 2009

95% of the people in my generation spend first and save later.

only 5% of the people my generation save first and spend later.

honestly, I belonged to the first category… I desire to move to the second category for i know it will be easier for me when my savings works for me  for later years specially when commitment (car loan, house loan, parents aging, wedding, family, kids) are even greater. If I can’t save now, what makes me think that I can save in later years. As income goes up, so will my expense…

This thought bugged me from 1230am -230am this morning…How can i better discipline myself? How can convey this importance to my fellow friends…

Nobody plan to fail, They fail to plan…
