What is the reason you blog? To bring life or to expose death?

I would like to think my blog brings more life than death….

This one of my team…

img_1514.jpg

Been an enjoyable and meaningful weekend for me to be “young” again. hIakz! heart were shared, some lives had been open up, better bonding were created, laughters and tears were great shared. Tho short, i believe it was a learning experience for the girls n myself..

img_1497.jpgimg_1501.jpgOur one half hour journey with an unexpected stop and we found baby “manggis” and durian… we had to squeeze in a red ‘truck’ to get to the resort

Started off with a little games led by older YC…and led them to alot of confusion…like “cute” CFT trying to figure out what shoes are and what sandals are..which is left or right…img_1504.jpgimg_1507.jpgimg_1510.jpgimg_1512.jpg

After img_1516.jpg we had a workshop on ‘overcoming fear-being a courageous player by doing img_1520.jpg and img_1528.jpg and img_1531.jpg then we reach theimg_1533.jpg (yes..they are natural posers). Each of US were so courageous to go thru img_1564.jpg… yup the flying fox. I was impress with their courageous…until A leach attack them and they all forgotten the first thing they learn about over-coming fear… “Do not panic”… *sigh….

They did something some thinks it’s impossible….(i duno what’s it’s called also:P) supporting each other without chairs…. YAY! good job girls:P

img_1588.jpgimg_1587.jpg img_1589.jpg

And workshop “drivers and Passanger” by uncle Steven (hah!) talking about purpose, dream, discipline and commitment and Samson facilitating one of the groups.

img_1590.jpgimg_1592.jpg

Morning exercise?

img_1603.jpgimg_1611.jpgimg_1616.jpg

….no more fear of getting hit by balls, shooting and defending? i hope so…continue with workshop by Hao Ying (they call her very “yeng”)…”Jian Che Tau Ti” Persevere till the end…

img_1620.jpgimg_1624.jpgimg_1626.jpgimg_1638.jpg

The second photo was really nice to watch cos the game was frustrating and it really builds the team. I overheard one of them screaming yet trying to be nice “You have to let go of me..if u kept pulling me how am i going to move?” it was pretty cute tensing…

img_1640.jpg

Home Sweet Home…..

It had indeed been an eye opening experience for me to know a little bit more of each and every one their struggles or lives through this camp. Truly i value the time spent :)

Thank you players for making the time to have this camp happening and Thank you facilitators for making it happen for us… You are the BEST!

Thank you Jesus for your wisdom, strength, protection, blessing and presence…
“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving“.-Psalms 69:30

Therapy- Real world Vs Truth in the real World

May 23, 2007

This is dedicated to friends and young people (like me) who just got into / getting into the Real working world.

“I see many campus students who have great dreams and passion for the purpose of their lives… but the moment they step into the working world, the pressure and influence out there caught them off guard and it just swept them off their feet. Their dreams/ passion just went dead…”- Pastor Cathryn

I was at a really good casual chat meeting with a few older-young working adults over the weekend last week to help innocent people like me who fear or don’t know what to expect in the world to better prepare us to working life. I couldn’t really piece down everything they shared or put in a better presentation. But, here are among the few REAL things they share, advice they gave and tips that trigger my thoughts to be right and heart to be still.

Work is created by God- “The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. -Genesis 2:15

I learnt:
1. Work is not a waste of time but a time to honour God in my work by doing it well
2. Work, doesn’t mean you let go of your dreams
3. Work doesn’t me you lose your ground
4. Before applying for jobs ask God for His will. Don’t dive right into the first job you are offered unless God gave you a “go”
5. Know that you are FIRST a Christian then your profession. This way, you reduce the possibility of you swaying into unfruitful lifestyle or unGodly deals.
6. Don’t get a credit card if you know you cannot handle it. (Many young adults are in few hundred thousand debts by the age of 28)
7. Integrity at work (even small details eg: tell them exactly where you are even if you are traveling home at 4 pm)

MOST IMPORTANT 2 that i value.
- Find a scripture that you can hold on to so that, when work don’t go well you can hang on to the promises of God
- Have somebody accountable for your life and finance.

My Bro, Shawn’s advice about gossips: “If I am not part of the problem or solution, I don’t have to know”
